well i'm about to start installing all the mods in my car and i need an opinion i have a 6 speed and dont want to change it to 5 speed im building it light sort off and is for daily driver and once in while auto-croos or drag it but i was told the 6 speed is not that great and i should consider a 5 speed. dont really want to but the mods im putting might hurt my tranny so what you guys think?
5 speed swap or TRE 6 SPEED REBUILD?

What parts do a 6MT Evo needs for a proper swap to 5MT?

 

they need a conversion kit.

 

That isn't a list of light mods yes you need a 5 speed if you stay stock turbo then.... thats different but don't waste any money on any kind of 6 speed build cause they fail to my knowledge. I blew up 2 6 speeds with stock turbo full bolt ons just drag racing. I'm pretty sure auto-cross is more stressful on the car so just find a used 5 speed cheap and send to shep for a full rebuild or stage 2 if you want and you will be set. I believe he also sells the conversion kit

wich conversion kit i use to have a shep trans in my dsm and it was great but for the evo i really feel like i like the 6 speed even if i never race it. i wish i can keep it. i'll give up autox and drag just to keep it 6 speed i mean thats why i bought the mr other than that i would had got a se.
