I don't want to do that because I'll run the risk of diff oil spewing out.

If diff oil spills out when you are on flat ground, you found the problem.

I changed my diff oil a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember seeing a copper washer. It was aluminum. I wouldn't worry about it though unless it was leaking.

really, damn. I have some ****ty luck then. would you happen to have a picture from the side view like the one I posted. I'm just worried and I've heard horror stories in the past about people not having a washer on the diff bolt.

their is spose to be a soft metal crush gaskit just like your oil drain plug has. if you remove the fill plug a small amount of fluid will drip. thats normal. but you can imstall a gaskit if your worried and the drip of fluid that come out wont be a problem. if that helps


p.s. the colder the car the less pressure in the case so less will want to come out

u should be ok than. if something like that ever does happen where someone leaves it iff you can usually find replacements at autozone or advanced
