I can understand that completely. My mbc instructions explained that I needed to cap off the ports I did not use.

i just had this same exact problem i have a FORGE MBC and i just recently got a fuel pump tried uppping booost but i hit fuel cut its almost like doing a hard pulll then hittting a rock wall then you car goes back on i got a tune and i cant stresss anymore than alll your car is saying is GIVE ME A TUNEEE!

I had the same thing on my 05 evo 8. I had a big intake on it and a huge BOV (like that when I bought it). Sometimes (especially when the air was a little chilly outside) I would have cut out at about 4500-5500 RPMs. It would then throw a code (overboost). I took off the aftermarket crap and went back to stock for now and haven't had a worry in about 8 months. I sure though it was because the guy before me never had the car tuned for the mods he put on.
