Heres a boost plot from the above ported red.. It held 30psi great and could VERY EASILY hold much more with no issues.

I dont really have any right now. I dont have a macro lens that will pic up any detail so it just looks all dark and stuff and if I shine light or use flash it looses all the detail and is just all blown out. Let me see if I can find one that shows much of anything

Increasing WG area directly increases pressure behind the valve and tendancy to creep. How much did you remove? If you can get around the creep, your increasing the expansion potential on the turbine.

Yea we got a red that wants to creep from a solid 30 to 32psi in 4th gear! We are using the evc6, what bc are you using?

it wasnt much, but enough to make it more useable. you should have seen it before i ported it. ugh...it was a terrible casting. one side was drastically smaller than the other. i just made them more equal to each other. my boost seemed to hold more steadily and not such a spike after and held alot better and didnt creep at lower boost level unlike before. it would spike to 25 drop to 18 and move up to 20. so now it hits 20 and stays at 20.

hmm that doesnt sound like an issue with the WG area to me. More like a WGA, boost control, tune issue. the stock casting should be fine around 20psi(ish). If your not having issues now though it should be fine, just dont remove any more material. Im pretty sure if Im getting good results with solid boost at 30+(above Red was stable to like 35-36psi no problem) then 20 should be no sweat.

Looks nice anyway, especially compared to the ancient twin-flapper 10,5 housing/stock turbocharger that run. Ultimatesteve's 30psi plot chart just shows what I am missing without the red.

Ultimatesteve, what kind of cam settings do you have configured?

This car was running the GM boost solenoid and stock ecu with a forge WGA. No creep, no issues, and I believe at one point it was stable to or at least could be around 35-36psi.

I am fortunate enough to have my parts on a lot of cars that Bryan@GST tunes so results have always been great. As with anything, its the complete package that gives results, but I believe what this does HELP show is that there is above average flow capable here and that with the right supporting mods and tuner its a VERY capable setup.

This red had stock gears. the setup off the top of my head was

stock block/head/valve springs(yes stock srings reving to 8K no problem)
forge wga
Stevo8 spec ported hotside
Stevo8 spec ported exhaust manifold
Wilson intake mani
milspec TB
comp cams 280's
uicp/licp/intake(not sure what brand)
AGP fmic
tbe with no cat

I dont want to say numbers cause it doesnt reflect without a understanding of dynoes, but in comparison its making the same numbers or better then local GT30r's with a considerable amount less lag and more under the curve.
