FP Green to Red conversion

Just wondering if anyone knows (Or Aniel or Robert) if you guys will do an FP Green to a Red conversion as my Green is in need of a rebuild and I just figured I would step up while I'm in there. I'm crossing my fingers and praying to the turbo Gods on this one The car went 11.3@123 full weight with the Green on e85. I have all the supporting mods needed (1000ccs, fuel pump, AEM etc) and Jake Montgomery is the tuner so it should rip pretty damn good with the red. Also want to try my hand at some hill climbs if I do trhis set up! Thanks in adcance

they will but its like 1100 bucks for the conversion. i asked them as i was on a green also.

You would probably be better off just to sell your green, and buy a fresh red, or atleast its the same not much discount by converting yours.

Sending them a green is the same to them as a stock turbo. Better off buying a stock one and send that. Then sell the green and get most of your money back. That's my plan

I would do that but I will not sell the green in the condition it is in....too much shaft play...I dont want to sell it to some poor soul and have it take a dump 1,000 miles later. Thanks for the info guys.

Well now you have told the public that your green is no good then people are going to know about it. you sound like a honest person, so if your green is not so good, you have to sell it for less than avg market value. You still end up getting more money selling your green.

and one suggestion, get rid of AEM EMS, get F CON V PRO, much better unit, it won't kill your starter at least

Just a quick side question, which would most of tuners here suggest,
F CON V PRO or AEM EMS for people who DD and run green, red, or BBK turbos?

doesn't matter if it's DD or drag race or which turbo, F con V pro is better unit. First you can start your car just like stock ecu, unlike AEM EMS you have to crank it a few seconds, that's really not good for the car, second, the F con V pro utilize OBDII, you can still pass the state inspection with it (actually this feature makes it better for DD), the software on the F CON V PRO is more advance than the AEM. Look at how many people are doing the switch. In Japan, F Con V pro is used most, great example the HKS carbon evo. you can make F con V pro run as full standalone or as piggyback let stock ecu control non-performance related features.

Most of tuner here don't tune F con V pro, b/c you have to become HKS PRO dealer, plus this is America, most tuner like to use AEM anyway. F con V pro is still new to a lot of tuners.

That's pretty sweet, do you know of a few shops that
tune using the F CON V PRO?

Yeah that is an issue because everytime I run e85, in the cold I have starting issues...I got faith in my aem tuner though...he will get the car for a few days and get that dialed in...also there is the crank trigger plate as an option when I build the motor. I have no doubt the v-pro is good but I have invested and learned too much about the aem to give up on it....You know the saying...Alomost Engine Management lol...but I will cope. The AEM is a powerful weapon in the correct hands. I can foot $1100 for a red upgrade..hell I was gonna save up for the HTA35 but since the green **** prematurely, I will do the red instead...dont have the funding for a t3 turbo kit right this second. I also hear hydra and of course the uber expensive Motec are awesome as well..hell for that matter the OpenEcu aint too shabby for the price!

are you sure your green is bad? there is a normal amount of shaft play radially. axial shaft play is bad.

Yea if your Green is about to die on you then I would just send that in for the conversion. It's gonna cost you $1200 after taxes and shipping and a 2+ month wait for the conversion.

Why do you think caused the Green to fail on you? Too much boost?

Probably his radical Idaho driving style(pedal to the metal) did it.
