The play is axial or "in and out" and its about 1/8th to 1/4th of an inch...I've seen many turbos go bad, owned two evos and two dsms so I am pretty certain when a turbo is going to take a dump

2months turn around for upgrading std IX turbo to red, do you have the same unit back just upgraded or is it like buschur exchange basis on the his manifolds where he has them ready and just receives yours and sends out a previously modded one?

Thats a good question....I suppose mine would be like building a IX turbo into a red...they may have to haug the compressor side some more for the red wheel..not sure. I hope they can turn it quicker than 2 months but I supose it will be worth the wait. No biggy anyways since I have other stuff to do to the car anyways.

Guys , i received the green from 1 month ago ... He's still in the box, then i heard about the RED... What is the REAL Difference between the RED AND THE GREEN ??
can i exhange him to the red , cause the green is still bran new ... with all the options ...

I u guys were in my place what did u do ???
Ill Suggest to wait little bit to see what is the good and bad effect of the RED, I have a BRAND NEW green still in the box with all the options as 18PSI , Ported & C.COATED, Install kit etc ...
Any way I can understand well that the RED is the same as the GREEN on PUMP GAS but the RED work very hard and strong ON RACE GAS ... Hope if some prove that im wrong ... Hope that ill not desapointed for buying the GREEN ...
THX GUYS

thx a lot for ur HELP ....

Bottom Line, you might have to send the Green back to FP for their $1100 conversion considering the stark differences between the Green and Red. I've been looking for a Green with all of the bells and whistles and would entertain buying yours if you choose a different direction.

So that I'm 100% sure...
FP will convert either a stock IX turbo or a Green to the Red for $1,100, right? Does this same concept apply to a stock VIII turbo? I'm thinking that it doesn't but it is better to ask for clarification.

I called FP They told me : AS ur turbo is still 100% NEW in the box with install kit and with all the options AS 10.5 HOTSIDE, 18PSI W.G, PORTED AND COATED etc .. they reduce 25% from the price and they give the red but afetr my research the green is the same ON PUMP GAS as red BUT THE Advantage of the RED that he can reach over 500bhp on race gas...

Yeah I will be running e85 so that is the main reason I want the red...may tune it for q16 as well and see if it gains over e85..if not, my tank will always see e85. I believe mine is already ported but i will have fp look into that when I send it and if its not I will have that done as well. I have the 18psi wga already..just need to finish my headgasket and timing belt and send this bad ride off to Texas!

I'm just curious about these two questions before I make a wasted purchase. Thanks.

It doesnt matter if it is a Green or a stock 9 turbo it is 1100 bux and an 8 turbo will not work. If it would I would have a red right now.

^ Good information to know. It is useful to me due to a comparison of the new BBK turbos. Thanks.
