epm dump noise

We put the epm 02 dump on the red, and it makes thing sorta pinging noise at idle....They said it was the flapper valve on the wastegate rattling, and the reason it was loud was b/c of the dump tube...Anyone else here this noise???

I have no pinging noise ... I've never heard one on the cars I've tuned either. You didn't re-use the stock gasket did you?

Try shortening the length of the actuator rod, which you can adjust by rotating the turnbuckle on the threaded end. This should keep the flapper valve from bouncing up off the seat. You probably have no preload on the wastegate. Set it to about 14 PSI or higher.

We put it back on the lift, stuffed the dump tube, and the noise went away

Stuffed the dump tube??? meaning blocked the tube off?? if the air is exhaust coming out of the dump at idle.. you have a 99.99% chance they reused the stock gasket which cannot work..

agreed take of stock gasket and check preload on wga,

there shouldn't be any air coming out of dump tube at idle

Yeah, if you're getting exhaust flow out the dump tube at idle either the flapper is lifting up off the seat due to low WG preload level(spring pressure), or as Mike says, the installation of the stock gasket allows turbine exit gas flow to crossover into the dump tube. One or the other.
