shifting problem?

when i drive for, maybe, the first 5-10 minutes shifting from 1-2 is smooth, then shifting 2-3 kinda grinds, and the rest is fairly fine. but after 10 minutes everything seems smooth. is this normal? i read somewhere its normal. but just wanted to check with you guys

Does it grind or is it notchy? Because my 2nd gear is usually fine but sometimes it notchy along with 3rd. How many miles does your car have? Have you changed your tranny fluid?

I'm not sure if I have the same problem you have, but I could not get 2nd gear to go in smooth ever. Mine does not grind but it feels rough when i put it in gear. All other gears are fine.

sometimes it grinds just a little but most of the time its just rough putting it into 3rd. I thought it might be the tranny fluid needs to be changed and is warming up. Im changing my tranny fluid hopefully this weekend, but i dont drive it too much. i guess notchy might describe it in most cases. the car has 33k miles
