Comp Cams holding me back?

Currently running the 6262 kit from ets and it feels like i should have more power. I feel like the comp 272 cams may be holding me back from making better power. on a mustang dyno the car made 363hp and 330 tq at 25 psi of boost. the tune is good and i just feel like the car should be making more power and trap better speeds. on pump gas the car is only trapping 114 mph max in the 1/4 mile. i have been considering switching to the kelford 272's or the s2's. any opinions?

Possibly your cam selection........first I would look into a good tune, then check your power level again. To give you an idea.......I'm at 352awhp stock turbo, stock intercooler and cams, but running e85 on 24 psi. The ?, who is tuning your car?

the turbo? how do you figure? there are several people making excllent power on this turbo. Iwont throw the name of the tuner out there because the tune i pretty clean and the car runs amazing for a bigger turbo.

is that 353 on a dynojet or a mustang dyno. i was told this mustang dyno reads 13% lower than a dyno jet. that would put me around 418 on a dyno jet. the person who tunes my car runs e-85 and makes great power. he has a stock turbo with jus cams, filter kit, and exhaust. he runs 11.6's all day at 118.

sounds like a major problem, a turbo like that would make 400awhp on stock cams.

Might be the cams but i would suggest checking for a boost leak and checking the compression first the car sounds a bit weak to me... then if those two check out then a switch to some S2's will deffinatly help the power department.

yeah i have considered the compression test. the car is on 03 with 82,000 miles on it. i also need to check for some leaks. i believe there may be some leakage off the exhaust side of the block. im just thinking a more aggressive cam may be in need for the bigger turbo. the comps were nice on the stock but i really wanna see this car come alive. i may be messaging you soon greg about some s2'2 with the bee hive spring set up.

I'm a big fan of the S2 but I don't think that's your sole problem and you might not get the big gains you're expecting. I'd focus on fixing the real problem first.

I have the Comps 272 in my car and have made great power for the few mods I have. I dont think the cams are the problem. There is something else. I mean I made 549 on a Dynojet and 481 on CBRDs MD. I also know i have a TB shaft leak aswell and still made those numbers. Id look elsewhere even tho larger cams will make more power. I have BF272s laying on the mantle right now

Are those the only mods you got going for you? What kind of time did you trap?

my comp 280's have been doing me good so far. have you thought about getting some adj cam gears and playing witht the intake cam? the LC is aimed more toward mid range, putting the intake to around -3 or -4 is best for peak power. im still on stock gears and when i was on pump gas and stock turbo at 21psi i put down 330whp on a dynodynamics.

I looked through my last 175 or so customers and only one...he's using the Comp 280's but we didn't finish the tune, he's been having clutch problems.
