I recently got cams and during cold starts/warm ups. the engine is pretty rough and jumpy. is that normal??

Without tuning yes it's normal.

With some ECU adjustment those cams can idle great. I just worked out my idle with Kelford 272's - now it's awesome cold and hot.

I just put the HKS 264/272's in my 03 and other than the obvious change in sound, the idle is fine and doesn't die at any temp. I'm here in San antonio so temps similar to where you are probably. I also put FIC 1050's in at the same time as the cams, set the injector scaling and voltage change, didn't change anything else and it starts and idles fine cold or hot. It is running rich at idle but I haven't tuned the fuel map yet except at the top end some.
