Longitudinal Engine/Gearbox

Just a query,

What Transmission could i use for a evo 8 - 9 longitudinal RWD set up, I've been looking at the L300 Rwd box but im pretty sure thats just a match for the evo 0 and vr4 block. maybe a custom bellhousing is in order?

Any help appricated.

oh and i've exhausted the search button and all his/her friends and family

If you search "longitudinal" or "swevo" here on EvoM and LancerRegister you can see stuff about Norris Designs setup. He is using some nutty Hollinger sequential gearbox that probably costs as much as an Evo does. But he is keeping the car AWD.

I think Buschur has experience with RWD 4G63?

Adapter plate is needed and use a Gforce or Liberty clutchless tranny.. Doesnt rob the HP a glide will rob.. I am hoping to have mine in the works before the end of this year.. 4 door 3/4 chassis RWD Evo..

I guess Norris is the first to do it and keep it AWD. Pretty big difference I suspect in terms of the fab work and build difficulty.

But ahh who cares about those guys in the UK there cars are slow

Waste of time and $$$ to turn the motor and keep it AWD.. Just my opinion.. Obviously $$$ isnt an issue for norris.. Once the motor is spun, there is no excuse not to run mid 7's atleast.. that is if you put a good tire under the car..
