The stock intercooler is AWESOME! With that being said, its difficult to make a better one. You should look at AMS, Buscher, ETS, Full Race, Perrin, ARC (JDM Baller Intercooler), HKS Type-R. All of these company's produce excellent replacement intercoolers that Actually Work Well. The ebay intercoolers are normally junk...do not fit well, pressure loss, actually cool less than stock, flanges break, ect...buy it once, buy it from reputable peolple that race their cars.

Some people have had luck with them others, not so much. A friend of mine had an 05' with a TBE, intake, eBay FMIC, and was tuned by the same guy as me on the same dyno and he only made 3hp more than me and I had all the same mods as him minus the eBay intercooler and the 05's had the larger hotside than the 03's.

Stay away from the eBay junk intercoolers; you may as well just stay on the stock FMIC. If you are looking for dirt cheap though I'd recommend either the ETS 3" which is on sale for ~$420 right now or contact MAP about the TurboXS FMIC which I know they'd let go for under $400 since its just been taking up space in their warehouse.

Well, I guess it seems like it can go both ways on this. It seem it's pretty much half and half for people for or against it.

I'm a fan of making power on a budget. I ran one (Ebay FMIC from just innercoolers) for a while because I couldn't afford a good FMIC when I hit a road gator (semi retread). I did make good power (319whp, 301WTQ with stock turbo) with the Ebay FMIC and never had any problems. I have since upgraded to a Griffin core FMIC from DTM. I am getting ready to upgrade the complete turbo kit soon so hopefully I will make even more power soon!

I run a Ebay FMIC, called JDM sports, made 333 @ 23 psi on a Dyno jet. I had it on for almost 2 years...no rust, no leak...flow rate is good but the only thing I don't like is its cooling effeciency...mine has small end tanks. I think the one you are talking about is like an AMS replica, which has pretty good end tanks. Mine cost $99 but like others say, you get what you pay for!

Some people say it makes a difference but I'm not so sure but the power numbers I posted above was on DTM's Mustang Dyno.

dee yamaha is correct, the one from CXRacing (formerly just innercoolers) is the AMS replica. It seems to work pretty good.
