Unhappy Does your evo stall?

I consider my complaints to be small compared to the fun I am having with my bone stock Evo. It has stalled after moving forward in the drivethru line once and has come close several other times. This was not a stall from engaging the clutch too rapidly or not giving enough gas. It just stalled right after moving forward and letting off the gas. The AC was on, and the weather in SoCal has been very hot. However, it always sounds a little like a diesel at idle with AC on. I'm hoping it just needs an idle adjustment. Only other complaint is the deceleration sound/rattle. Am I alone on the stall problem? Cheers

I have it too however, it hasn't shut off yet. Sure sounds like it will. I have 265 miles on mine.

FYI I noticed this today w/ my a/c on. I watched the rpms drop to about 350 after rolling to a stop light w/ the clutch down. It seemed to go like this:

Running in 4th gear around 2500 rpms
Release throttle/depress clutch
rpms drop as normal
rpms stabalize at idle speed (~ 850)
rpms suddenly drop to ~350 for 1-1.5 seconds
rpms bounce back to idle speed

The grounding kit is definitely on the list for me, so we'll see if it really helps this out at all.

I have heared many people with evo's stalliing like that. Like moving up in traffic at a stop light or a drive through. Try the grounding kit. They're cheap.

Mine hasn't stalled like that before. You definitely want to get a grounding kit. Also check your tubes/piping. They might have poped off, maybe giving u bad air. Just a guess. But do install the grounding kit. It only takes like a few hours and is really cheap.

I have stalled it 3 times so far for me, there all my fault though...don't take offense, but I think these stalls are your fault also. Wear on your clutch + AC + Really light throttle = Stall

Stalling is very common problem on Evo. My car stall too. Not often though, but at least 3 times since I got the car. I have my car for about 3 months now.

It has stalled after moving forward in the drivethru line once and has come close several other times.
I read the post. This means his foot did not have the clutch depressed the whole way, ie. he caused the stall. Trust me, I blamed the car the first time I did it...

AC = I hardly ever use my AC cause it increases the load on the engine. I just drive with my windows down unless i'm on the freeway and cruising at 75 to 80, that's when I us my AC. When I'm decelerating I turn off my AC.

HA!
i've stalled numerous times...
i'm not proud of the fact i had to learn stick with my evo.....
....
....
However, i don't usually drive with a/c on, too much of a slow down.
But whenever i got other people in the car and they complain about the heat i turn it on occasionaly. Each time i experienced any about-to-stall moments, i've been able to save it from turning off. so no major problems here!

btw, haven't stalled the car since i got it.
