This is not the infamous clutch chatter sound that comes from the clutch (kind of like bb pellets rolling in a can), but the car sounds louder when I give it gas. I broke the car in properly 500 miles, but from the very start it got louder then when I had my previous clutch. The sound is only there ofcourse when I accelerate, it sounds like my engine has gotten louder for some reason. Another issue, when I engage the clutch there is a slight hesitation or sound like some metal is stretching and then the clutch engages?? Any one else had this issue after install? Thanks.

log your car dude/ My protege had real loud knock like that the only time i've ever herd knock in my evo is when i lost the line off my Fuel pressure regulator. However, rocks in a coffee can thats detonation.

Actually that is what the clutch sounds like...the sound is not really coming from my engine, although now that I have payed even closer attention to it...it is, as if my exhaust has gotten louder?? Cabin drone has gotten worse.

I am familiar with the sound of detonation, I had turbocharged a Mazda MP3 back in the days and came across this problem with a lean fuel pill for my Vortech FPR.
The sound has everything to do with my exhaust more and more and a little maybe from my clutch. Very hard to pin point since the car has gotten louder.

you sure nothing is still loose from the install that is causing noise?

 

Whoever installed the clutch might not have used new gaskets for your downpipe so you're problably hearing an exhaust leak at the o2 housing/downpipe or downpipe/cat.
