Any benefit to reving over 8500?
Currently, I am running a built bottom end 2.0 with a 35r, I'm planning on upgrading to a HTA35r along with some new cams, valvetrain. Current rev limit is about 8100, My question are:
Any benefits in reving to 9k or higher on?
What other mods would be necessary to make power at that type of revs? Obviously, cams, turbo and head but what about a ported stock or aftermarket IM w/ bigger TB?
What cams are recommended for high rev applications? Kelfords, Cosworth, S2's?

The main reason why people spin there engine past 9K is usually to stay in 4th gear through the trap as ONRAILS has stated above. At high boost where most turbos are at their choke flow limit or close to it the torque started to drop out some at high RPM. Even with larger plenums, cams, and flowing heads there is a point where 600-700 whp cars still drop efficiency on 35 ish turbos. The only real execption to this are 42Rish turbos to even even need to go past 9500.

Thanks for all the input as this is a hypothetically speaking since I have yet to upgrade the parts but I would image as stated above that a dyno will tell what the optimal shift points would be, I'm just trying to get an idea before I follow thru with the upgrades.
