Mitsubishi Oil Temp Sensor
Mitsubishi Oil Temp Sensor
What tool do you use with a torque wrench for the Mitsubishi oil temp sensor given that the wire shown below cannot be removed from the sensor?
Also my gauge package has blue back lighting for the volt and oil gauges, while green back lighting for the boost gauge. Is this normal?

Does anyone know of an extention which fits a torque wrench for a 19mm box end wrench. Manufactures have these as special tools but I have never seen this as a "general tool".

Mine are different colors and I can't find the bulb covers locally!

It's the picture. The sensor replaces the drain plug and uses a 19mm wrench or I wish a socket!!

Just make sure it is tight and you use a new crush washer every time you change your oil. If it does not leak your ok.Eric

I did the intall for the
dealer offered guages myself - bought the kit after having my car for a while & not seeing a guage package I liked.
Strat is right about the sender replacing the drain plug; I change my own oil and end up using an open end wrench.
My guages are back-lit in white, but it looks like you could open the guages from behind.

With respect to installing the sensor I have thought about making a slit in the side of a 19 mm deep socket with a cut off wheel. This would be similar to a O2 sensor socket. With 20 to 30 ft-lbs torque I wouldn't expect the socket to fail. Comments?
My gauge package has two blue and one green bulb. The dealer check another kit and found the identical mix (boost is green, others are blue.) Is Mitsu telling us something?

i'm talking about the ones near the oil filter
1) Oil cooler bypass valve
2) Oil filter relief valve
I don't see anything else that would make sense.
