You are correct...here is what we are talking about. Cast iron on the left and bronze on the right...don't pay attention to the size difference, one is a intake and one is a exhaust.

We worked with Ferrea on the guide for the Mitsu, as you can tell the factory did not include a stop, but we wanted to not have to worry about measuring it. As I stated earlier we do guides in every head that we port, so a stop to save time was a must!
And most guides on the market for the mitsu are straight at the tip, like the factory exhaust..we had them put the shamfur(no clue how to spell that!) on it. That is what helps not take material away when installing them. Although, we do a little more massaging then shown, you get the idea.

Since we're showing pictures and all.

I wonder where those pieces of valve guide went? They weren't in the cylinder when I pulled the head.

This motor was smoking like a group of 15 year old Indonesian kids. I haven't had the head rebuilt yet. I had a few extras, one which just had a valve job and I just threw that one back on.

AHHH Yes! lol..I could not find it in spell check, thank baby Jesus for Mr.Crcain!

and ya'll are very welcome, I was glad to see Mr.Bushur and the Jackson crew chime in as well.

And Broxma pics were exactly what I was talking about. The guide will sometimes become briddle and just break at that point of the intake guide, I think because of the chamfer, or when the valve bends you see that. You could machine the tip to the top of the guide boss if the guide didn't split farther down in some cases to save cash, but the right way is to replace it. We like to run the full length of the guide because when you machine them down, you will get excessive guide wear from the deflection of the valve.

And those pieces most likely went out that beautiful, clean exhaust ports you got there...

Do I get a PM for my guess of what happened to it telling me the secret car you got there!
