REBUILD: Exedy for the 3rd time or ACT MB7-HDSD?

So this will be my 3rd rebuild with the Exedy Twin, 2nd discs only lasted 14k and already is slipping again. I am leaning heavily towards getting the new ACT MB7-HDSD. I'm at around 400whp so this should hold fine. Friend has the same clutch so i'm looking for opinions on what I should do.

Also to add, the Exedy was launced on honestly twice. Rest is just regular driving.(for an evo owner )

Thanks

Jeff

If I did the Triple then i'd be at around $900 for the rebuild, plus i'm not even sure if the pressure plate is still up for a 3rd round.

2nd time around I made sure to do a good break in, kept rpm's low for about 500miles.

No track days just standard hwy abuse hehehe

can you convert your triple to a twin? no reason for a triple at only 400 whp

are you just buying the disks for rebuilding? You may have a pressure plate problem... also make sure you are resurfacing the flywheel.

If it were me, only 400 whp I would go with ACT

I agree, it doesn't sound like the best decision to go back with the Exedy..

A carbon will be toasted in a week of street driving. Stay clear.

The only carbon i would consider is the ATS where its not carbon on carbon it doesn't slip all the time when street driven. However since it isn't carbon on carbon your running the risk of warping the metal parts.

is your clutch the HD?

i know the HD is far superior to the SD.

You're speaking of the new ACT twin setup right? I haven't really seen much feedback on it yet

Id rebuild personally.

Not to thread jack or anything, but how long do heavy duty exedy triple disks normally last the first time? then after being rebuilt? I'm about to buy either a twin or triple disk exedy but im still deciding which ones the right one
