sounds like there is an issue other than just the clutch discs. i have a exedy twin in my car and i drive it hard on the street. the clutch is still good after 20k+ miles at over 500whp. make sure there isn't something else causing it to fail.

Well what else? Pressure plate issues would be give symptoms like not disengaging. Car drives and shifts like butter but will slip at 4k rpm and catch at 5k. Typical symptoms.

The 2nd time around I don't think my mechanic resurfaced the flywheel. Also, the second set of discs could have been generic(not sure if there are such things), they weren't the same as the originals.

I managed 28k on the first clutch, 14k 2nd discs...i'm not sure I want to try and get another set of discs for another 14k of driving. Based on my maintanence calendar, new discs installed "56,133K(2/18/2008) EXEDY TWIN DISC" not even 1 year.

So far ACT is leading in my books and I know with my luck i'll need more than just discs when the mechanic takes off the transmission.

Just to add: Car has a new slave, new master cylinder, and SS lines.

I appreciate all inputs thus far.

IF you have a Exedy twin disk why in the world would you buy a different clutch just rebuild and don't waste $ and if your looking to get a different clutch do a Quarter Master twin disk. I wouldn't do any type of ACT clutch on my car

I went ACT. You already know why it wears out soo fast. Just soo much friction in them twins for daily driving.

If I had a clutch fail on me 2 times, I would look towards a different direction. I vote ACT for that very reason.

maybe you should try something new since the constant rebuilding of the exedy isnt getting you anywhere

bump due to an update.

My clutch has stopped slipping. I babied it for about 3weeks nothing more than 20% throttle. I turned off my meth and lowered the boost from 30 down to 24.5psi. Just looking for insight on why it would go from slipping to fine? Glazed disc?
