evo 9, 57 trim or 35r
i know that this has been discussed a million tims prob but i need a lil more input please from more people who tried. if you have any links please provide and sorry ahead of time for rehashing this same topic. but here is my delima...
i have a stock evo9 turbo, 57 trim, and a bushur 35r kit.
I would like to be at about 400 to 450 on pump gas i have most of supporting mods i think. i have hks264 cams, 680 injectors walbro pump, 3half inch intercooler, all the piping and full exhaust.
i really want to do stock for more realibility. What really would like to do stock and just build off that if so what is most power i can make with it? and what do i need to get to maximaze the stock turbo

The 35R is a much better turbo than the 57. I would stick with that one. All this is dependent on what dyno you are using. The stock turbo will be maxed out at the power you are planning on making. It would require meth or race fuel also.

i do not see y the 35r is a better turbo other than more power breaking stuff and wearing clutches out but i want to weigh all my options... this is so difficult!

when you start exceeding the efficency of a smallish turbo it overheats this is why alky injection is becoming popular and works well for what you are trying to do,,, if your whole setup is **** you might be able to crack 400 whp on a dynojet with alky and the 9 turbo ,,, or send that beotch in for a green or red or bbk those are the i want my car reliable and quick turbos , and to still have spool as well... my .02

If you have all three turbos as mentioned, then I'd send the IX unit into Forced Performance and have it converted to FP Red spec. This would give you stock reliability and appearance, much better spoolup than either the 57 or the 35R, as well as place you smack in the middle of your power range goals on 93 octane.
Sell the other two turbos/kits on EvoM classifieds.

For the exact price of the conversion, I'd call Forced Performance, in McKinney, TX. I kinda remember the price being around $1300 plus change, but I may be wrong.
As for the cams, current wisdom centers around Kelford 272's, GSC S2's, FP 4R's, and maybe Cossie M2's. You'll need larger than 680 nozzles for any of the turbos that you've mentioned, I think.

From my experiences, running 93 octane and a 35R turbo makes for a ton of fun. My only question is why would you want to spend extra money on a red turbo when you already have a good 35R turbo kit on your hands? Unless I read the first post wrong, you do already have one, but I will check again.

I'm not saying you can't make power with a big turbo and pump gas (we all know you can), it just wouldn't be my first choice.
If you have a BR 35R kit already I would use that, why spend more money if you don't need too?

yeah i have br 35r but i just did care for it. i dont know y i was just afraid of breaking stuff...
