Trick to removing flywheel dowel pins?
Well I was going to take my flywheel in today to get resurfaced and I can't seem to get the 3 dowel pins out. The backs of them are slightly exposed, so I tried to use a punch and a 3lb hammmer to tap them out. HA, they would not even budge. Put a little heat from a propane touch on the pins just in case there was any loctite used on them, but still no luck.
Flywheel is either a Pro Street 10lb or a Competition Clutch 10 lb. (not sure which one it is, came on car when I bought it.)
My only other idea is to try a press but since the acess to the pins is not a straight shot. Doubt I will be able to use this method when trying to press at an angle.
