Buschur Exhaust Fitment Verificaiton

Can someone tell me whether or not the Buschur "race muffler" TBE (I believe it is slip fit) will fit a IX MR?

I have seen two different posts contradict the answer to my question when I tried to look this up so I'd like to verify.

Thanks in advance...

I believe the "race muffler" is the loud muffler they had before the Bullet. If so, vwjeff has it on his IX and it fits. I don't believe there to be a difference in the exhaust between a IX and IX MR.

The only difference I could think of would be if buschur had a dp for the 03-04 non-acd evo and then revised it after the acd evo's came out.......but this i dont know.

the dp would be the only thing that would cause fitment issues between some TBE for 03-04 and 05-06 evo's........catbacks and tp/cats all fit the same.

Mine fits like a glove! Very simple, lightweight, and no gaskets or crap to deal with. It's a straight down to business piece!

"This will fit the Evolution 8, RS, MR and the new 9 without clearances issues." It's amazing what a quick visit to Buschur's site can tell you.

I am referring to an exhaust design that is no longer available through his site. I am pretty sure that his two current designs have flanges and muffler designs with tapered ends. Thanks anyways.

I am worried mostly about the downpipe. I couldn't remember if there was something about the ACD. I was hoping to find out the answer to this without bugging them.

Tim, I think you are right about it being the exhaust before the bullet. I thought vwjeff had it but was not sure. I'll have to get in touch with him. Thanks!

I also don't think there is any difference with the 5 and 6 speeds...at least nothing obvious to me. The ACD clearance is what is worrying me.

He just changed the muffler design......I run an old buschur scca catback which had flanges and a rear slip fit for the muffler. It was on my VIII and I swapped it to my IX.

All you have to do is call them and ask if they ever revised there dp from the 03-04 non-acd evo to the 05-06 acd evo. I don't remember reading if they did or not, just call them direct and be done......it will take 5 min for them to say yes or no?

You are right that I should just call them but honestly I figured why bug them with something like this when I can get the info on here... It would be much quicker to call for me but it is wasting their time. If I don't get a trustworthy answer here I'll call.

I actually have a Buschur turbo back for sale right now. It's one of the older models. All slip fits. No flanges. It works with ACD. It came off an '05.

Our current exhaust design, let me guess that within the last 2 years, will fit every EVO from 2003-2006. If you are buying a used exhaust, which I am assuming that's what you are doing, there is no way for us to tell you whether or not it is going to fit. If it has the old style BR race muffler on it and not the bullet that is a good indication that the system is pretty old and it may not fit your car with ACD.

Thanks for clarifying. I probably should have just asked you guys from the start but I didn't want to bug you guys if I wasn't going to be purchasing directly from you. I felt like from your prospective it would be a waste of your time. I'd rather let you chime in as you did at your own convenience.

To be completely honest, the exhaust I was looking at is as you guessed, used. I understand that there are no promises but it was worth asking about.
