Hi Broxma,

I tried the new wiring with the two ignitors and it works for a few seconds and after that... it seems like the car is running in two cylinders. Sort of like when your sparks have moisture on them.

I am reviewing the wiring to make sure everything is wired correctly and post back.

Well!

I reviewed the wiring one more time sand everything seems to be fine.

The same symptoms above occurred after 15-25 seconds after start up.

I thought that it would work as the drawing. Oh well!

Will try to hook a CDI box to see if it will work.

Interesting.
I don't have a set of true single plug coils except some from a WRX and I don't know if they will fit. I can try the wiring if they do, but it won't be for a few days.

The only thing I can think to check is that the outputs for the ignitors are hooked up to 1/4 and 2/3, i.e. , OB2 on both ignitors going to 2/3(One to 2, one to 3) and OB1 on both going to 1/4(One to 1, one to 4). Even logically, I can't see how it shouldn't work. Try the CDI box and lemme know.

Make sure your ignitors are the same configuration. I was following a how to thread for setting up a cop with a dsm ignitor and 300 coils and I found that with the ignitor I had the pinout was completley different than the guides.

I verified the pin configuration per the Ignitor itself. The pinout is labeled/engraved on the ignitor and was sure that it was wired accordingly.

Joedr it looks as though you have been very busy since the last time we spoke! I will follow this thread very closely since I am also looking for solution less then what the shops are charging for a plug and play COP setup! I got your PM, just let me know when it is sent. No hurry. I'll get them mounted up and see how much shipping is gonna cost me! LOL

I am still looking for a magical part I saw the other day. It was an single ignitor with a 7 wire plug and 4 discrete outputs. It had wires going out both sides and looked to be specifically for an OEM COP setup not directly controlled by the ECU. I will continue to hunt it down. I know I saw it, I just can't recall where or on what.

Hey Josh!

Glad to see that you join us in this thread! Looking forward to see if we can come up with a solution for a COP with OEM parts and roughly under 500.00.

I will let you know as soon as I send it. Thanks for your understanding! BTW... I know it will cost a bit to send it overf here.
