Instead of taking apart my motor and installing rod bolts/head bolts, etc. I've decided to buy a spare motor and build that motor. My question is where can I get a spare motor and for how much? Also, taking into consideration if I had a choice in motors which version of the EVO motor is the best choice and why?

 

You should buy a Tomei short block motor. It's probably cheaper than buying a crate motor from MMA. It's about 9k plus shipping from Japan.

 

You can get a TME motor with turbo for about $2700. I was gonna buy one but just decided to rebuild my motor.

 

Can anyone get the GSR VI Mine's 400HP @ 7500 rpm motor?

 

Well, I found 2 motors. A motor for a EVO 4 ($2200) and EVO 5 ($2500) in Canada. I figured some rods/pistons and head work along with the hks cams and 3037 kit would be nice. I trying to keep it along the lines of what Al has done. The motor comes complete including the turbo. Is that a reasonable price? My other option is to have my girlfriend get her brother to buy me one in Japan and ship it over. That's how I got my kit and other parts.
