Our friend john had a triple on his 6 speed and it broke his whole transmission in about a year. It was his daily driver also. He now has a exedy twin and says its much better

gonna bump this because i need more input myself. I am considering this one and im only going 450-ish wtq, with the plans of a FP Red in the future(500wtq). Should i go with this MM023SR or just get an HD twin? I dont want to ever upgrade my clutch again.

i woulda got the twin, triple actually causes more heat
and from reading and reviews, it seems the daily driver wants an exedy twin or a QM twin over any triple
Why?
Because the twin will probably last longer
and QM rebuilds are pretty cheap (like $400)

Would one be correct to say with 3 discs there is more surface area for heat to disapate on.
-I am sure your right, but just a thought I had.
-The rebuild aspect of it, I thought about too. Just the deal I got I couldnt pass up.
-I have been told by nearly all vendors that exedy is superior to QM for DD.
-I have seen a couple of exedy twin discs converted to triple disc. So there is that option.
-If your able to build a triple disc, can you degrade a triple to a twin?

Yeah just buy the twin rebuild kit and use your flywheel and pressure plate

Triple here as well. seems like the most or high avg. ive seen for twins is ~20k. the guys at english racing reccommend the triple, as well as many other shops for street/race cars. its held fine for me no problems with my fp black on 34lbs.
