Check out the how-to section. There is a great write up on it.

Did mine about six month ago, pain in tha ***! Just read the write-up again and again etc... if you have access to a lift it would be alot easier to get leverage on some of the bolts. You will need lots of handtools as well as extensions, jacks and jack stands, or tranny jack, prybars as well as a tool to remove the input shafts, I modified a dent puller for this task.
make sure you pop off your release bearing before you start!! you can find out how if you search, also if you have a extra set of hands would help. just take your time and you will be fine, it took me 7 days 16 hours total in my driveway on jack stands by myself

I've done a few clutches and transmission swaps on non-Mitsubishi's in the past and doing my own clutch still worries me. So much that I'm holding off putting a turbo on my car until I can gain the confidence and save for a clutch.

If you're going to do this yourself, I'd honestly suggest dropping the subframe. An extra 30-40 minutes, but a whoe lot easier to get the trans in and out. Throw a front sway bar in there too while you have it out. Of course if you have a front one, you'll need a rear one too

Just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into

I used a motorcycle jack to support the tranny by myself. For a cheater bar on some of the harder bolts..a good length of pipe (or the handle from your floor jack)

Double-offset box-end wrenches also help in some spots.

I luckily was able to use a lift. It is a royal pain if you are not too mechanically inclined. Make sure you have a good set of tools.
