Timing Belt noise

Hey guys,

in the last few weeks my car started making a noise coming from belt area. I first thought it was a serpentine belt tensioner or one of the pulley. I took the serpentine belt out and checked the pulleys and tensioners and they are fine. The belt is good too. I ran the engine for a few second without the sepentine belt and the noise was still there. Seems to be coming from the armonic balancer area. I took it off and check it and it seems fine. I looked at the timing belt by rotating the engine and it seems to look good. I sprayed a little belt dressing on it, and the noise completely went away. It came back 2 days later. I am really not sure what could be wrong with the belt itself especially after only 13000 miles. any ideas? thanks. Car is a 06MR. I know it is still under warranty but a have a few mods and don't wanna get my warranty voided if it is an easy fix.

I have the same exact issue. I found a thread a few weeks ago where someone said it was a pulley off angle or something of that sort. I hope someone in here can post and send us in the right direction.

The balance shaft belt rides on an idler pulley of sorts, as does the timing belt on the tensioner pulley. I'm not sure though how either of those 2 would cause any strange noises that would go away with some belt dressing, they basically roll on bearings. I could see if one of them got soaked with water and it ended up rusting the bearings a bit if it sat, it might make some weird noises.

Smile Same issues also....

I have the exact same issue also. It is like this weird chuch, chuch, chuch sounds. I lifted the car and if your looking at the car from the front with it in the air, the noise is coming from the left back side. I also sprayed some lube on it and it went away. A few days later it was back!!! What is it!!! Please let me know if you have figured this out! Thnaks!

I know for a fact the problem is from the timing belt itself or the timing belt pulleys. I was going to take it apart again, check it again, and spray a little again, but I doubt it will be a permanent fix. I guess, I am going ot have to try the dealer and hope they do not void my warranty.
Any of you guys resolved it?
