bov question.

I have a greddy rs bov on my uicp. And i have a aem intake and the stock bov is still on their and recirculated. It was set up this way when i bought the car. what is the correct way to have this set up. do i need to cap the spot where the stock bov is on the intake and icp or what do i do. I am kinda new to this so i would appreciate some help. car runs great just doesnt seem right to me to have both of them set up this way.

There should only be one bov on there in your situation. Take one of them off and recirculate it into the intake, I personally prefer the stock metal valves to any of the many aftermarket ones I've tried.

Haha that's weird, the bov on the uicp should recirculate back to the intake tube. How does the car drive like that? If u run with VTA it will run rich between every shift. And idle sucks! Also need to tune it.

listen, don't let anyone tell u all these issues they have with vta....i've ran the greddy type s vta on an eclipse, wrx, and now my evo with no issues....if there are any slight issues, u won't even notice it

There I call bullsh!t. I've tried at least 6 different diverter valves and bov's and compared them recirculated to atmospherically vented, and dumping to the atmosphere when using the stock extremely picky maf systems on an Evo is just plain dumb. The Greddy RS works semi-ok when you trim it down to a single internal spring with the spring preload turned down almost all the way and recirculated, but still works no where near as well as the stock metal or plastic one's do for daily drivability. Honestly you should get a piece of hose to connect the stock plastic one up and just stick with that recirculated for now.

The reason WRX's and STi's aren't so picky is because of the different type of maf and it's placement in the system. Do a search on here and see how many threads you find with "Help! My car keeps stalling!" in them.

As funny as that is its kinda a odd way to have the bov noise and have good driveability. Ricey and ingenious.

Yes and no Curt, notice that the bottom stock plastic valve wasn't really hooked up...it was just used to plug the return vent lol.
