Dealer is the easiest but not the cheapest. Ace Hardware has automotive grade studs if you want to switch them out. I wouldnt use anything other than factory nuts though. If you have a local supplier you need grade 10.9 which is SAE grade 8. Do not buy the grade 8.8 junk.

Any reason why to use 10.8, not 8.8 ?

When i went to my bolt shop, i told them I needed high heat bolts. After asking how hot, they said 8.8 would be plenty strong for my use.

Factory bolts are SAE grade 8 which is equivalent to grade 10.9. The SAE 8 are more expensive but on a high heat application such as ours with the evo...I wouldnt take a chance. Torque clamping load may be the same. But if they decide to seize in the head or O2 housing, the weaker bolts may break before they come free. The factory bolts will freeze inplace and break anyways. But its a matter of insurance IMO. I run the 8.8 on my cat delete. But near the head I wont.

Honestly, if you are in doubt, just spend the extra cash and order form the dealer. If you know the exact sizes you need, order online from any hardware supplier. You will just need to specify the bolt diameter and thread pitch. IE M10X1.25 with the correct length noted.

I mixed and matched. replaced some with studs from local hardware store and ordered the cheaper bolts for the turbo to mani from dealer. The nuts were by far the most expensive as the head diameter is smaller than anything the local stores carried. This made a difference because the mani is machined to accept the smaller nut (reduced head) and still allow a socket to fit over it. Using the 8.8 hardware caused the nut diameter to go from (I think) 12mm to 14mm and I coudnt fit the socet into the mani for a correct torque.

Of course all this could just be my OCD coming thru.

Can I post for him to PM RussellM on here for the bolts that hold the o2 housing on? I don't want to get another infraction so seriously please let me know if thats ok?
