I finished installing Buschurs new IC Friday night, been gone all weekend. I started at 4 pm and everything was back on the car at 8:30. I have never taken the front bumper or the I/C off before but it was easy.
The black pipe to the turbo is a ***** to get on. I managed to get it on leaving the starter in place.
I had to use a dead blow to move the left/right hangers on the I/C slightly in order to get it to fit on the car correctly, no prob. I decided to stay with the stock upper I/C pipe instead of upgrading to Buschurs upper I/C which in turn required me to fabricate items to make this work. I used the stock lower I/C mesh hose and cut a 2 inch straight peice and used it to join the stock lower I/C pipe to the new I/C. It was tight as hell but it fit. Iused hose clamps to secure it even though it was so damn titght.
Once in there was a bit of cutting of the under tray. Look at the stock I/C and how it attatches to the under tray with plastic screws that lock. The screws lock under the stock I/C. That was all cut out in order to drop the new I/C in.
All in all a basic install. Nothing is going to be a perfect form fit. There is going to be some adjustment to be made here and there.
Test drove it and noticed a little lag, not much. Pulls like hell all the way to redline. I havent by any means even begun to unleash this I/Cs potential but give me some time.
Look at the front shot picture. Is it me or is the I/C tilted? Looks like the left corner is lower, not level. When I stand in font of it it looks crooked.
I took these pictures with my Nokia 3650. Not bad huh? Sloppy cutting job on the under tray.

It looks pretty straight to me. That core is tough to get 100% straight. I spent hours working on my Talon and I never got it right.
Any higher res pics? What about both ICs next to each other for comparison?

Thanks man, those pictures help ALOT!! The picture that you took for the underneath was extremely helpful. By the way it looks it doesn't really effect it too much. Thanks again, I think I might be ordering mine sooner then I thought!!!

The black dot is where the dealer drilled into the bumper to mount the license plate. I used velcro to secure mine. And they put a ruber gromit there so the mount wouldn't rub the paint off. I left it on.

I noticed a few small welds on the front of the I/C, on the rails that hold the coils, or whatever they're called. Any reason why?
In the red area.

Not sure what that is you are looking at but there are no welds on the core in that area.
Glad you like the intercooler.
Glad you got the intercooler on without any major problems. I know Tym had talked to you on tweaking the intercooler if you thought it sat crooked. It looks damn good in the picture to me, I think I would leave it.
Thanks for posting the pictures and review for all to see.
