Who has the E-Manage?

Im dead set on buying the Profec E01 and the E-manage. I also understand that if I want to completely utilize the full potential of the system. The ignition harness, injector harness, what else do I need? I figure Im going to need a good set up of gauges and what not. I've been running through it, and I can't figure exactly what I need. A/F gauge? Knock sensor? I want to have the most efficient set up, no doubling up on gauges. I also want to be able to monitor everything and use all available components of the system. Finding info is difficult, I want to know who has it. Thanks BTW, I may be talking in circles, Im on new medication that has me loopy, in the least.

I got the E-Manage boost package from Ultimate Racing. It has the E-Manage unit w/ main harness, injector harness, ignition harness, boost pressure sensor, boost pressure sensor harness, and support tool. right now i'm running on the map they supplied.
if you're gonna start tuning yourself, invest in a wideband air/fuel meter of some sort. if you don't know how to tune, then check with the guys at ultimate to see if they have a map that suits your needs. otherwise, your best bet is to take it to a professional tuner.

I have the e-manage, TechEdge wbo2, a Pocketlogger, and a boost gauge. That's all I need to tune with. I didn't get the e-01 since I want to be stealthy about things, but the support tool software and cable do a fine job. Took me all of 3 runs at the track to get dialed in to an 11.7:1 afr. Of course, I've got some experience working with fuel and timing maps from previous cars so that helps.

What does the Profec and E-Manage cover? Knock sensor? Boost gauge, a/f ratio? Im trying to figure out what gauges I need aside from what the profec and e-manage cover. Just trying to do this once......

The profec is a boost controller with boost gauge. The e-manage allows you to manipulate fuel and timing - there are no "gauges". The profec will also allow you to connect other Greddy gauges and "view" them through the display. I don't think there are any other gauge functions of the profec by itself.

If you are just going to do mild mods to the car, the the emanage, profec combo with some dyno time is all you'll need. If you are going to tune yourself, you'll need to add an egt gauge, and an odbII logger (for timing, a/f, etc.). If you're planning on going wild, then a wbo2 may be in order, as well as oil pressure, water temp, and possibly others. Just depends on what you want to do.

Im planning on going the distance, Im checking the pocket logger. I just want to make sure I've got my ends covered. I understand about the profec. Im going to use the data logger, as I have a palm pilot, but I dont know what a wbo2 is. So for now the e-manage and profec will do, with an egt gauge, a/f gauge, oil pressure and the temp I can live without.

I'm getting the E-manage/Profec E-01 package from UR. Have any of you hooked up this set-up using a harness like the one Buschur is offering? Seems like a good idea if it will prevent a bunch of soldering.

I sell the package prewired into a harness jumper if you want something plug and play. It's actually very easy to use the software. YOu don't need the injector harness, just the timing harness, unit and support tool.

Guru, will your plug and play harness accept all of the Greddy harnesses including injector and ignition? I already ordered the unit as part of a big package from UR, I did not know you guys were there! Can I bring my car in for dyno tuning? My sister lives in Novi and works for Vector, so you would be really handy. Actually, do you stock the BF DEFI gauges too?

Thanks

E Manage is awesome, but do note that they're known to burn out the stock ignition coils if you leave the car/ignition on the "ON" position, without the car running. Not sure if GReddy knows about this, but I think with the key at the "ON" position, the thing starts sending power to the coils, even without the car running, which burns them out. I have seen this happen on a few different Evos.

Yep, just what Incognito said. There must be a glitch in the system where sometimes when the ignition is in the ON position with the engine OFF- voltage is sent to the coils. This charges the coils to the point that they melt. Trust me, it happened to me !!

Does the latest firmware upgrade (v1.36) fix this? I upgraded a couple of months ago and since then inadvertantly left the key on after doing some map adjustments. I realized 30-40 minutes later, but have had no coil problems.
