the cheaper easier way to obtain the same affect a lot cheaper would be an o2 dump which separates the wastegate from the turbine and dumps them

Also, RevMoto has just recently done one on the stock turbo and stock manifold. Personally, I think that this is overkill for the amount of exhaust flow passing through the a 10.5 housing on a stock 2-Liter motor. But, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. Whatever floats your boat!

Although the one in the post you referenced is not a stock manifold, it's a buschur manifold, that is a good reference. I machined a stock manifold for a guy to run twin 34mm external wastegates. Twin scroll requires two wastegates and since the buschur unit referenced above is an open volute, it only needs one. The guy I helped got them off of Ebay and wanted to be cheap so we figured out a way to machine the area for a mount flange and then did some welding and fabricating. The long runner side was fairly easy but the short runner side (driver side) was a little bit of a challenge. I'll check my external hard drive for some old pics and post them if I can find them.

external wastegate wont give you more power? correct me if im wrong someone please i may be but if i can recall the only reason to upgrade the wastegate is if your turbo wont hold boost up top right? if you have the proper tune u shouldnt need a wastegate. i maybe be wrong dont hold me to it but im sure i read this somewhere.
