1st: I'm not trying to put you or your goals down but if you want to try to break records, the budget for your rods should be the last thing on your mind.
2nd: the Eagle rods are more than capable of reaching your goals if you are setup and tuned correctly. I've got them in my car and have more than a few friends driving Evo's with more than 500whp with them and they are just fine. No amount of money spent on rods will save them if you aren't tuned properly and built and setup properly.
3rd: Cheap, Fast, Reliable, pick ONLY 2!

yea, im not really trying to buy the cheapest rods. i just want to know which ones are the cheapest... mostly so i can avoid them.
question for you, i notice you have wiseco pistons. I talk to local honda/nissan guys around here and they say they dont like wiseco pistons. sometimes make a wierd noise and not as reliable as others. how do u feel about your pistons??
but about them crower rods i mentions above. Im a little confused. are they 2 seperate companys?

I think im just gonna say SCREW the BRIAN crower rods and just stick with the popular name with the better rep. Either eagle or Crower.
of them 2 companies, do you guys know which one has the stonger rod bolts?

Why don't you post the amount of $$$ you're willing to spend, then it is easy to tell you the best rod in that price range.
Carrillo and Oliver make EXCELLENT connecting rods if you can afford them. Manley Turbo Tuff rods are good and a bit cheaper. Eagle and Scat are a low-cost Chinese rod that has it's place for those with limited budgets. K1 Technologies and Brian Crower (BC) make a good rod that is also affordable.
I'll say this again...in MOST cases horsepower is not what causes connecting rods to fail. Rods do not usually fail due to compression, RPM and piston weight (inertia) is what usually pulls connecting rods apart or cause a rod bolt failure.
Think of a normally aspirated Honda engine turning 9000 RPM...it may only make 240hp but the rods may come apart at 10,000 RPM. You put that same rod in the same engine with a turbocharger making 400hp, but only turning 7500 RPM...it will probably live much longer.
Assuming a decent rod design, the rod bolt is the most important part of the connecting rod. Boost can actually help make connecting rods less stressed by countering inertia loads.

Groden rods for the ultimate motor lol.
All kidding aside, I'm a big fan of the Manley's, especially the I-beam design that lightens up the rotating mass a bit over standard H-beam designs.

Well i ordered the rods.
I got Eagle H-beams
Apr head studs
apr main studs
I was told the eagle's have stronger rod bolts. So i went with them.
next week i get my pistons. Either Wiseco, RoadRace Motor sports, or custom JE pistons.
thanks so much for all the help guys.

So my rods cam in the mail. I'm going to post a picture now for you guys to see and compare our stock rods, and Eagle H-beam rods, for an EVO8 that fits our car perfectly. Some say we dont "need rods, and ours is already reinforced"
one look at this pictures tells a different story...

I'm going to post this up on a few other threads, just so it'll be helpful for others to search and find out info for our car.
