Gsrboi80 & Lumpskie,

That's what my friend pretty said as well, the issue is i just bought the car and the warranty has done a great amount of good work for me, so i don;t wanna get a tune and take the chance of the warranty might be voided. and I don't have a boost gauge yet.

The symptoms your describing are likely boost cut caused by the increased airflow of the intake and TBE. This is common, most IX's with just a TBE can start experiencing boost cut in 4th gear.

The dealer will not be able to easily detect that you have a tune. I've yet to hear of this happening to anyone. If they are warrantying your car with a TBE and an intake then I certainly wouldnt worry about a tune. Keep in mind if you have a drivetrain or emmissions related issue they may bring up the fact that you have a TBE and an intake and void your powertrain warranty. If your really concerned, purchase a tactrix cable and backup your stock tune so you can put it back on the car when it goes to the dealer.

bump,
so what should I be doing to avoid this from happening again? assuming that iam not planning on getting a tune anytime soon?

and by the way, i really have no way of seeing what comes out of the tail, but does it usualy shoot black smoke, fire ball (this would happen when its rich right?)...etc

and does it create engine knock?

Thanks

Get a tune. End of story.

There's many great tuners on this forum that don't cost a lot for a remote/road tune. I trusted my car to Tamer @ 4WS Tuning and he's done a miracle out of it. Believe us when we tell you, tune is the most important part of modding a car. ALWAYS.
