Weird Pop/Choke.....Pls help

So here is a list of the mods on my car,
HKS bov
Injen intake
Ebay 3'' TBE

Stock boost, no flash, no tune...etc., pretty much bone stock.
so I am driving this morning , and decided to go open throttle on 4th gear, this is the first time I have done so since my tranny synchros built and changed the TC by the dealer (which was done recently) and the first time I have been on WOT with my tbe. so going on 4th gear, righty at 5000 RPM the car feels like it choked/pop I think it was more of a choke, and also at 6000 RPM. keep in mind that yesterday was my first day trying out the 2 step. so i don;t know if that has any effect.
Appreciate all the comments, i don't know what the heck is wrong with my car. hopefuly nothing serious.

Ps. oh and there is no signs of smoke out of the tail.
Thanks

First, are you venting your HKS to the atmosphere or recirculating it?

+1 ^ BOV venting to atmosphere causing rich condition during shifting would be my guess.

but its not during shifting, if i only slam on the pedal, by the time it hits 5K rpm, it does this choke or pop like feeling, and also around 6K rpm. i tried doing the same on 2nd, i couldn;t, it normal on 2nd. i have yet to do it on 3rd , and 1st.
Thanks

but if there is a major boost leak then don't u think it would appear in all gears and not only in 4th? or wait, boost levels is different from gear to gear, so is it higher on the 4th than 2rd?
Thanks

Putting a TBE on the car, coupled with it being cold, and a high load 4th gear pull. Could very well allow the car to boost a tad more causing said boost/fuel cut. Do you have a boost gauge????

^^ I agree here... that's why you don't see it in lower gears. That's happened to me and some other guys. Also, someone else said, consider a tune. It will probably control your boost, knock and AFR better and be better for the car in the long run!

So i just talked to a good friend of mine who has been tunning evos for a while and he said the following;
Since I have an intake, and its a lil cold here in Raleigh(around 38 F), I could very well be experiencing a fuel cut in higher gears at higher rpms. Also, with having an aftermarket atmospheric BOV, which holds high boost than the oem one, then I am most likely running higher boost and getting a fuel cut.
pls let me know what u guys think of this reasoning. maybe some of the other tuners could pitch on this one.
Thanks, and I appreciate ur help
