Intercooler decisions decisions
Well I am waiting for my tax return and what to do with it. I am currently rocking the ebay AMS clone core
. Anyway with around 500+whp and possibly 600+ in the near future, what core would you guys recommend. I am kinda on the fence between the 4" Ets, Nisei, or the buschur race.
Or will the price justify my hp gains. Or should I just buy something else. I still am sitting on the stock exhaust mani, intake mani, throttle body.
I was also kinda of thinking a PPI ported exhaust mani and skunk2 throttle body instead.
Thank you for any input

Well I just question the core because of the "ebay" quality and they are proven to heat soak easier is the main problem with them. Also I want something that is going to fill the entire grill and perform better. Right now its about 20-30 degrees here so heat soaking isn't a huge concern at the moment. I do pick up more knock though after a couple of pulls usually.
I have a spare stock exhaust manifold so I will probably go ahead and send that out.

If you've already got an Ebay AMS clone, which is a good upgrade from stock, why worry about getting another IC? When it really comes down to it, what does the brand have to do with it? Is your current IC adequately cooling your car??
I'd put the money towards something else IMO.

I have a 3.5" core TurboXS intercooler and love it very much. As far as your ebay intercooler is concerned, the money you would spend on a new intercooler would probably be better put somewhere else. You'd see greater gains from the other things mentioned in this thread.
