attn: ACT HDSS owners

It is time for me to buy a clutch. I have searched and found numerous threads on this clutch.
I'm having trouble making my decision based on all of the information I am finding though. It seems like for every person who likes it, there's a bunch who don't.

My question to the people who have the HDSS is...are you happy with it? Was it worth it? Would you buy it again?

Also, do you feel that it is better than an oem replacement?

I think you will only get limited helpfull feedback on your thread but here is probably the largest clutch poll out there for the EVO with close to 700 votes:

Of course I can give you my opinion, but you can probably guess what that is, LOL.

I have it and i love it but make sure you use good oil. I wouldn't use Royal Purple it's not good when its cold.

iv got it...only reason i got it because i couldn't afford the exedy twin disk...relatively happy with it though holds and feels great no annoying noises only slight whirring when inside and depressed in neutral...holds great on launches and the combo clutch flywheel were right in my price range so...good luck and enjoy

are you happy with it?
yes.

Was it worth it?
yes.

Would you buy it again?
I would get a fidenza 3.2

Also, do you feel that it is better than an oem replacement?
100 times better, so long as you adj the pedal.

I have the ACT HDSS also and the ACT Streetlite flywheel, and the AMS SS clutch line.
I like it alot better than oem.

I took my oem clutch out after 5000 miles.
It worked fine, I was just starting to get into the higher HP and didn't want to chance it.
I Still have it in my attic, just in case.

Would I get it again, you betcha.

If I would have had the extra $ I would have gotten the Exedy twin, but at the time, I just couldn't swing the $ for it.

For me, it works great.
As long as you have someone that knows what they are doing put it in, and adjust it correctly, it works like a champ.

NO lockout at any RPM
Good Luck.

The HDSS and the HDSD are great.

The hdsd is a little lighter and will allow quicker shifts.
