too much oil?

i did an oil change saturday on my 9, and i added 4.7 quarts(less than 5), and it went over the second mark about 1/16". is it safe to drain a little of it, or should i continue to drive it normally?

Drain the oil a little to get it down to the right level. There are a bunch of reason's why you don't want to have too much oil in the motor.

you should have started the car and iddled it for a few min, the oil filter will soak in and take some oil, oil level should come down.

if not like the above said, many bad reason you dont want to overfill

A little bit over like that is fine; don't worry about it.

Bingo.

Same thing I was going to suggest. I went a little over on my oil change, started the car and it went right between the arrows.

I like to keep my oil right in between my level marks, which equates to about 4.5qts. But 4.7qts definitely is not going to hurt anything.

Just a question but would 5 quarts possibly hurt anything?

We put 5 in mine cuz I didn't know the exact amount and it just died and wont start......

I have a feeling I've killed my stock fuel pump cuz i'm not hearing it prime but this thread just randomly came up in my search and I just did an oil change so I thought I'd look and it's kind of scared me!

Run the filter for the Dodge Stealth. It is larger and now the engine will take all five quarts - just dump it in - simple. Also, the larger (meaning better) filter for the Stealth is usually cheaper than the Evo filter.
