Angry I knew I shouldnt do that 2nd to 3rd gear pull!!

I noticed something weired today on my car, I did a 2nd to 3rd gear pull shifting around 5k rpms. When I lift off the gas the rpms stayed at 4k rpms and slowly I MEAN SLOWLY dropped down. I was going like 20mph when I was fully back to normal speed after slowing down and the car stayed at 4k rpm until I pressed in the clutch.

After that Its not boosting like it used to. I used to start seeing boost at 3k rpms now I am seeing it late at the 4k rpm range. Then on my boost gauge I used to see boost up to 21psi and hold. NOW its like 15psi max .

I looked at the boost gauge and I started seeing 18-19hg vacuum. And when driving normal and lifting off the throttle the vacuum would jump to 21hg

I stopped at autozone and tried a rx7 trick using brake cleaner, I sprayed around the hoses and vacuums to see if there was a vacuum leak and NOTHING.

Check the oil pressure and its good, The car idles at 900rpm with a steady idle. Vacuum is at 15-17hg .

Please dont tell me I need a new clutch . The car has 35k miles on it. I drive it normal since owning it and I havent even done a launch. The fastest I have gone is 90mph.

The clutch is high on the pedal but i though it was normal due to all the evos i previously have test driven.

Will pedal adjustment help if any?

yes pedal adjustment can help, but that sounds liek a slip that is not from launching. So it sounds like your disc is like a pancake, and is glazed. Your gunna need a new clutch. Are you the original owner?

ehh. I would go aftermarket if I were you. No point in replacing OEM when ACT or so can cost just as much and will hold and not **** up again.

Talk to the member and ask him straight up. Stockers dont last that long

because it is like reving your car at idle, You might be punching it but the load will be different since it is slipping, so the boost range may vary.

Thats the thing I would of notice the clutch slipping if it was during the pull. But i was slowing down and the rpms stayed up and dropped slowly. After that Its been driving ok shifts ok and it moves ok at speedlimits. Will I be alright for this 25oo mile cross country trip?

yea you should be fine. Go out right now and go steady at 40 mph in 4th gear. Then punch the car and report back to this thread. You will know if it slips lol

Yup,!!!!!

4th gear around 3k rpms and punched it, boost went up to 20psi but was sluggish as crap! The most rpms it went up to was 5k rpms.
