Exhaust flange on turbo question (changing it out)

ok guys i have a vishnu stage 2 (v550) kit on my VIII,

question is the exhaust side looks to be cast steel and i want to put a new flange on it. reason is i think the old flange is warped of something and i have an exhaust leak i cant fix ive done everything i can.

the new flange i want to weld on is the one i circled in red and the one i have now is on top. the one on top is really hard to tighten the bolt also so id like to change it out.

can i just take the turbo off and change this flange? i have seen people with the mounts i want but looks like they are getting them new not just changing them out

Well, you have a 4 bolt hotside. You can't just swap flanges on the exhaust, it won't match up. You would need either a vband hotside, or a vband flange welded onto your 4bolt hotside. They both have to match up.

If its not warped to bad. Take it to a machine shop and have them do a resurface cut. Like 10 thousands. Like Jake said putting a new flange on or adding to will mess the alignment up of the turbo to down pipe.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Never seen or heard of anything like that before, it's genious! It does make one more flange to worry about, but as long as everything is tight...

Also be careful if you have close clearances, this will add about 3/4" or 1" and move your o2 housing/downpipe over that far.

1-1/4 im going to just cut off that much from my DP and weld a new V-band clamp to the DP
