cracked transfer case HELP

cracked transfer case HELP

I have an 05 evo and i was changing out the clutch when the tc fell and cracked/split the housing. i was wondering if i could weld it and it work or just bolt it in like that and it will wor or what? Im thinking i have to buy a new one.?????WHAT TO DO??
by the way it cracked by the bottom far right bolt hole maybe the others can hold enought.

This has happened to a few guys who were prying on the TC and broke a chunk off. Try doing a search on cracked transfer case. I think someone welded it. But its been a few years since I remember seeing that thread.

lol...same happend to me.... luckely nothing has happened to mine...just make sure you dont over torque it,....it should b ok.....

just weld it as long as it doesnt extend into a seal or something along those lines

I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM! Im not sure where yours cracked..Pics would help.

But I guess the guy who had the car before me messed up the tcase while pryin on the trans, broke it started leaking diff fluid everywhere. Had it sent out to shep trans, Fine eversince.
