hks 280 cams

hks 280 cams

can anyone help me here...

i just installed some hks 280 cams in a friends car..he has an evo 8 05 mr.

everything was done correctly, just now when turning it on, it has a lot of valvetrain noise....

almost sounds like things are hitting?? wondering if anyone knows what this is or if its normal.

i have never put 280 cams in a car before till now. please someone get to me here.

also he has stock springs and retainers.....

Did you bleed the lifters?

Even if you do, there might be noise for a wee bit. Keep the rev's up (so oil pressure is kept up) for 10-15 minutes and this should go away.

and make sure everything is in time, that the cam gears didnt jump a tooth

Yes. Acutally a lot of people run them. Duration is 280 but the lift isn't agressive as other cams.
