Has anyone tryed them Ebay gt35r turbos?

I was just surfing the web and I came across this gt35r turbo on Ebay. I know it is cheep. But I was just wondering if anyone has tryed this turbo on any kind of car. (civic, 240, evo, ect....)

I have a few friends that have tryed the SS chrome turbo on their civic and it worked fine for them. They just used the turbo from the kit, the rest of the kits are junk.

I wonder if FP would do an HTA set up on this kind of turbo? I know they would laugh at it send it back to you with one of them joker laughing bags in the box with the turbo.

Didn't some people do like a evo e-bay part car?If they did what turbo did they use? Was it something like this ebay turbo?

I hate people like you with all my heart. People who say "You have a 30K car, why are you trying to save gas? Why are you buying a cheaper car part" You think that the price of your car relates to what percentage you spend on parts. Why do honda guys buy cheaper stuff? Because usually they are on a BUDGET. I know a guy with a EK making alot more HP then 75% of people on this board running low tens high nines but he has Garret 37r. Does that mean he's dumb cause his turbo is close to a third the value of his shell? so what if the OP wants to buy a cheaper turbo and save some money so he can take his girlfriend out to a nice dinner and a movie or buy his kid a new lego or something?

Anyways the Ebay turbos are hit and miss. I wouldn't say go buy one and it'll last forever but they aren't absolute worthless peices of junk like some of the fanboys on here will say. Now if FP would do a HTA swap? I have no idea but that would be something to ask them

i would vote the compressor would brake off and end up in your combustion chamber, at least that would be my biggest fear, but me personally i don't know anyone running them.

If that's the case then don't mod your car. You want something you have to sacrifice something else.

I understand the budget point, and I do like to save and get the best value possible on any product/service. But I realized that if you want to play and play good you gotta pay certain amount.

If your friend is running this set up and he's happy then great for him. I wouldn't though. I would purchase only what is known to be best from my budget. If I am out of reach, I give it up because it is not worth my money and time.
When you go "el-cheapo" route, 90-95% of the time you will end up spending more money, time, and hassle because of malfunction, misfit design, cheap raw material....it could go on to why certain products are cheap, I'm sure you are aware.

In the end, run what you want to run right? I personally wouldn't run this kit.

Just don't hate on these opinions people have because you will waste your time pulling your own hair

Buy it, try it out and see how it performs. Everyone will hate but without actual results it's just speculation.

Unfortunately that's going to be the only way to find out, and more than likely it'll be a hard lesson. Even looking at the pics of it and how the exhaust wheel isn't balanced or the compressor nut hasn't been touched for a high speed balance just screams trouble. Those rip-offs were like $399 when they first came out, so that in itself should say a lot.

It should. If it doesnt it generally means something is out of balance somewhere. If you can honestly afford the car payment then you have the percentage of income to get the better parts.

If you have over extended to get the car and pay the insurance and all it leaves you is enough for an Ebay kit, then priorities need to be re-examined. You have to pay to play and if you can pay much dont play much. When it breaks there is even less left to fix it. Spending more on something than the car is worth is okay too. I have seen lots of DSMs have thousands spent on them to run 9's or faster and in the end the shell is still worth 1500-2500.

That turbo is not going to be ball bearing. They are just plain lying about that. I agree e-bay turbos are hit and miss. I have seen e-bay turbos that lasted 5 minutes. and others that seem to be lasting just like the originals they copy.

I don't think over extended on the car was mentioned, rather just wanting to save money. Personally, I have been known to buy lots of used parts to save money. Does it mean I can't afford the car so I buy cheap parts? No it means if I buy a used 35r for 800$ then I can spend the other 700$ I saved on a pipe for my street bike.

My 04 Cobra made over 600hp on 1500$ in mods. One mod being a 300$ used nitrous kit. I went just as fast as the guys that sunk 5g's into a KB setup, but I had lots of extra $$$ for other toys.

I agree that paying 35,000$+ for a car doesn't mean you have to buy high dollar parts to have fun. Would I buy an ebay turbo? No way. Ebay piping? Yep.
