Short shifter for evo?

I was wondering if putting a short shifter in an evo would be a bad or good idea? I'm new to the evo scene so please feel free to to let me know your opinions.

If any EvoM uses short shifter please let me know what brand would be a better buy.

http://www.perrinperformance.com/pro...TER?category=9 was looking into this.

Thanks EvoM!

if you like to work your *** off just to shift get one. i honestly see no need for a short shifter besides the shorter look. i had one and took that out. i modified my stock shifter to jsut have a shorter upper.. works great

I have the Fidanza one and really like it; one of the cheap mods I'm really glad I did.

On a related note, if you want a brand new Perrin knob to go along with the Perrin short-shifter (if you get it), I have one sitting here still in the box since it won't fit my Fidanza.

i got the perrin short throw.....works great. It has the angle at the top to have a more comfortable feel in first, 3rd, and 5th gear....and it feels nice and tight compared to the stock tranny where i felt like i was breaking it every time i shifted lol. but deffinelty love the perrin you will be happy with it. just grease it up really good lol

Don't go too short or you get a super notchy shifter. The authority that lancershop sells is the best feeling i've ever driven.

Cheers!

i have a B &M short shifter on mine with shifter base bushings and its awesome, the slop is nonexistent but it does require slightly more force to shift but no problems at all

I was running a GReddy knob on my Fidanza shifter and it was a bit tough/notchy, but now with the Skunk2 knob its amazing.

A knob really made that much difference? I'm intrigued.

What u aint know The Skunk2 Billet Shift Knob is constructed from high grade stainless steel and was designed with proper weight balance for improved shift feel as well as reduced miss-shifting. Ideal for both everyday street driving and competition track use.

Well now you know...

i have the buschur short shifter and i am pretty happy with it thus far...however i notice you have an SE,,,,dont all SE's come 6 speed?? if so..your only available short shifter option is to send your car to WORKS as they are the only ones who built a short shifter for the 6 speed and can only be installed in house..at their shop.

goodluch

I used to have a short shifter but it made shift soo much notchier. The evo already has a very short shift compared to other cars.
