236 miles....haha...what a shame for such a sweet car like an Evo to just sit. Hopefully you guys can put a few miles on it and make her happy.

All the threads are on post #297 minus a few but they get picked up just doing the other rom mods. Im a not a expert in computers or electronics but I find all the rom mods pretty straight forward just need to re-read and check all the steps.

If its a 03 or 04 I forgot which it is but your friend is probably switching it over to the 94170015 rom id to rid it of some cel's.

I bet some good numbers are still yet to come. Good luck with the car.

I have not been back on the dyno. I am working at this slowly and not doing quite as much reading as I should be, more experimenting than anything. I've gotten the car so rather than just entering false target AFR's in the fuel map that I can enter the actual AFR I want and get very close to hitting it. Which is really the proper way to go about it. I'm now within a few tenths of an AFR point of being dead on. There are a lot of helpful people in the stock ECU circle and I owe them a lot of thanks for all the work they have put into this. It makes it easier to just come along and have the information available.

The ROM that is my car is: 94170008.

There are a few things I'd like to add with the stock ECU. Getting the AEM wideband gauge ran into the logger would be great, 3 Bar Map sensor so I can log actual boost too. I'm not that far yet.

I am driving the car, actually it is all I am driving. It's running good on straight E85. Fuel mileage is good if I am actually driving it. Problem is I am eating up gallons of fuel starting it, letting it idle, rev'ing it etc.

I will keep the updates coming!

I would like to see how far you would go with 93oct as well on the stock ecu, with this project.
I'm guessing about 50whp less than E85.

50awhp sounds pretty conservative. I made 60awhp more with E-85 than 91 pisstane, and that was with only 2 lbs of more boost. Had I been able to run 6 lbs of more boost (clutch was the limiting factor) the difference would have been significantly more.

wideband isnt hard, but your stock ecu friend should be able to walk you through the evo X/jdm IX MAP sensor installation, its a drop in with some ROM and EcuFlash changes as long as your at a relatively steady elevation it shouldnt give you any kind of problem, also if you wanted to swap over to ecu controlled boost (not as good as AEM obviously) MrFred has a patch that will allow you to use the Evo X 3bar map sensor to log and simultaneously the ecu will check to see if its within the set boost and correct accordingly...just some stuff i hope you look into, a high horsepower stock ecu/stock frame turbo car from a big name is gunna be pretty insane to see when your all done

good luck keep us updated

I'm working away on the car. I've ran into some rediculous laptop problems. No idea why, pissing me off to no end though. I ended up taking my huge laptop that I use for my desktop at work and putting it in the car today, weird is everything in the flash and logging software worked 100%. I then went out after work and bought a new laptop, done screwing around.

To address some comments and such. Right now I am working mostly on getting the fuel maps to work the way they are suppose to. As soon as that is done I'll move on to the Map sensor and such. I have no desire for ECU controlled boost. I use it on a few cars here and there that people refuse to install boost controls on. Other than that I prefer a good manual controller on the car, my preference.

Tomorrow we Dan, my brother, is swapping transmissions for me. The car is strong enough that I am going to run out of RPM. He is going to put my 4.11 geared box in the car for me and a "new" tcase. We had a used tcase for a back up on one of the "race" cars and it is too loud for me in this particular car.

I'll keep the trans/transfer case coming out for a back up in the RS since I don't drive it as much now-a-days. I intend to put some serious miles on Project White this year.

BTW, I want to address the fuel system mods I made. The car still has a STOCK fuel rail on it. After the single 255 pumps runs out of fuel and you upgrade to our double pumper the next restriction ends up being the stock rail. So, stock rail is on, stock regulator and our double pumper. I also have our prototype pieces installed for the new changes being made to our double pumper kits for high horsepower/E85 use. At the current power level peak duty cycle is under 85%. The new rails we are having machined and our other high flow component is going to drop that considerably. I'm guessing that the 1200 cc injectors with this set up is going to be more than enough injector for the car.

Also, for those of you running greens/reds, I just found out that FP is not offering a warranty on either of those run at high boost levels unless you have an unrestricted oil feed line on the car. The factory line has a very small orifice in it and is not enough oil flow for really high boost. Keep that in mind.

What can we do about the oil feed line? Will you have anything available to keep proper oil flow for high boost?
