I bought this evo about 2 months ago. I drove for about two weeks and the car was getting below the 1000 rpm's and shutting off while driving. Checked the oil level and it was very low for barely a month of use. The plugs were dry but the battery was fried. Took it to autozone, recharged it and tried again. The car started giving it gas, but the temp keeps rising and i have black and white smoke coming from the tailpipe, horrible smell. What could it be????blown headgasket?bad alternator too??

 

Yikes. That doesn't sound good. Did it do this the entire 2 months you had it? If not...what did you do to make that start happening?

 

Well if it is a head problem I doubt its the gasket b/c they are a MLS type. If it got that hot it may have warped the head itself. (your white smoke problem)

If the alternator isnt charging then the car is operating off of the battery only which could cause it to die while you are driving. Take the alt to Autozone and have it checked!

 

take it to an evo specific shop and have it checked out
