yah you can do that or does the catback have a bung on the midpipe? Some exhausts have it on the midpipe.

from what I know... the evo 8 has the 02 bung on the actual catch-back right after the flange & the evo 9 has it on the cat... so what your saying should be correct...

If you cut and then weld a bung+CEL fix then you'll definitely be fine.

If you don't then you'll just have to live with the SES light being on all the time. The car doesn't go into limp mode or anything. It just throws the error code.

don't "order" an o2 fix. They're like 5 bucks for 2 of them from any auto parts place. And yeah, just go to a shop, they can drill and weld you on a bung. Local shop here only charges 20 bucks and is done in 20 minutes.

Oh yeah, you're looking for a spark plug Non Fouler. It will need to be drilled out to 1/2" inside.

I've done this exact same thing on a few occassions. It works great and never had a cel problem. By the way, just for grins I'd leave the 'Bong' in the bedroom and put the Bung on the car. JK
