I had the P0300 code (random/multiple misfire) get thrown on my car too. it could be cause of your cams or it can be a few other things.

How many miles on your car?

It could possibly be spark plugs, spark plug wires, coils, if your have a lightened flywheel it can vibrate a certain way and the engine can read that instead, or it can be a shaft dealing with your 5th gear (can't remember exaclty which one) that can cause harmonics to throw it too.

Just do your plugs, wires, and coils and if it still keeps coming on just get your car flashed and get it so the code can't turn on.

i went to go get my light turned off and have the problem fixed.. but it came back..

 

I also have this code coming on/off for the past 6 mos now?
