Aftermarket FMIC weight > Stock?

Ok, I just got my FMIC from SSAUTOCHROME yesterday. Took it out of the box and seem like it weigh at least 50lbs. I guessing.... I could be wrong. Anyone know of this?

A bar a plate core will always be heavier than a tube and fin. It's only a few lb difference though.

I dont get why theres always so many bad things said about the ebay intercoolers, MAPERFORMANCE has a ebay intercooler on one of there shop 1g's that made over 600awhp and it worked just fine for them.

While people have made power with the Ebay cores, many of them have shown they heat soak quite easily.

You are better off getting a proven core from a good company. Do it right or do it twice

I would love to have an ETS too but it's just a little out of my budget now.

Hopefully I don't have to DO IT TWICE

Oh, it comes with the UICP and also a BOV too. Not sure if I should use it. I heard stock BOV holds more boost though.

It all depends on who made the BOV, how it's constructed and what it can hold. I wish you luck and hope it works out for you.

cmpared to stock the ebay one is heavy but no where near 50#. maybe half that.
the stocker is the lightest IC I've seen for the EVO, thats one of the reasons I leave it on.
well, that and I only run 22psi on the stock turbo...
