HELP I drop a bolt!

Ok, I was doing my cams today and while prep for the removal of the valve cover, I accidently dropped the bolt between the intake manifold and the valve cover. Please tell me it will be ok....

Also after installing the cam, I have a hard time putting the gear back on. Doesn't it suppose to slide right into the hole nicely? Anyways, I got it to bolt but after removing the tensioner, the belt still has some gap. While the belt is still tie to the gear, i crank the pulley so that it's tighten a little and remove the tensioner. I crank it 3 times and make sure it's at TDC and align the mark on the gear to the valve cover. Did I do this wrong? Being it's my second time, it should be a little easier but I guess it wasn't. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

did you drop it on top of the intake manifold...? Or, did you drop it into the head w/ the valve cover off??? if you dropped it in the head... try using a flexible magnetic pick-up tool you can get at any auto parts store..

and its hard to figure out what the hell your saying... lol. i hope you dont speak like that in real life, and you just cant type.. or your grammar is slackin brotha...

Sorry about the grammer but anyways, the bolt didn't drop into the head which is a good thing. It drop down between the gaps of the intake manifold that bolts to the head.

Sounds like you just answered your own question. If the bolt didn't drop down into the head or any other openings in the motor, your just fine. I've had it happen to me hundreds of times over the years on all my vehicles.

Thanks JKD. Makes me feel much better now. I'm just worried it might get into moving parts and cause problems that's all.

Dropping bolts in the engine bay usually leads to bolts sitting on the undertray or in the starter shield but that's about it.
